Carol's Tuna Melt

Ingredients

  • Servings: 2
  • 1 (6 ounce) can tuna in water, drained and flaked
  • 4 green onions, sliced
  • 1 stalk celery, finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon mayonnaise
  • salt, a pinch
  • fresh ground black pepper, a pinch
  • 4 slices bread (1/2-inch thick)
  • 1 tablespoon butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup shredded swiss cheese

Recipe

  • 1 preheat panini grill to high.
  • 2 in a bowl, combine the tuna, green onions, celery, mayonnaise, salt, and pepper; taste and adjust seasoning as needed.
  • 3 brush one side of each bread slice with butter.
  • 4 place two slices on a work surface, buttered side down, and evenly layer with tuna mixture and cheese.
  • 5 cover with top halves, buttered side up, and press gently to pack.
  • 6 place sandwiches in grill, close the top plate so that it barely touches the sandwiches and cook until golden brown, 3-4 minutes.
  • 7 serve immediately.
