Cheddar Tuna Chowder

Total Time: 25 mins Preparation Time: 10 mins Cook Time: 15 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 6
  • 2 cups boiling water, salted
  • 1 large potato, peeled and diced
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 1/2 cup carrot, diced
  • 1 pinch rosemary
  • 1 pinch hot pepper sauce
  • 1 tablespoon chives or 1 tablespoon green onion, chopped
  • 1 (6 1/2 ounce) can tuna, drained
  • 1 (8 ounce) can creamed corn
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 2 cups milk
  • 3/4 lb sharp cheddar cheese, shredded

Recipe

  • 1 put water in pan; season with salt. add potato, onion, carrot; bring to a boil.
  • 2 cover and simmer 10 minutes. do not drain.
  • 3 in another pan, melt butter; blend in flour. gradually stir in milk and cook, stirring until smooth and thickened.
  • 4 add cheese and stir until melted. add vegetables and liquid, tuna corn and spices.
