Barbecue Ginger Prawns (shrimp)

Total Time: 28 mins Preparation Time: 20 mins Cook Time: 8 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 8
  • 1 1/2 kg raw prawns
  • 1/2 cup olive oil
  • 1/3 cup lemon juice
  • 1 onion, peeled and quartered
  • 6 cloves garlic, peeled
  • 5 cm ginger, peeled
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder, to taste
  • salt and pepper

Recipe

  • 1 shell and wash the prawns leaving the tails intact.
  • 2 blend all the marinade ingredients in a food processor until smooth.
  • 3 place prawns and marinade in bowl, cover and marinate for 1-2 hours.
  • 4 remove from marinade.
  • 5 cook in the bbq with lid on for 8-15 minutes, or until cooked through (do not overcook), depending on size.
