Clam Chowder

Total Time: 1 hr 15 mins Preparation Time: 15 mins Cook Time: 1 hr

Ingredients

  • Servings: 6
  • 4 -6 potatoes, diced
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 4 slices bacon, diced
  • 1 cup canned clams, chopped (or more)
  • 26 ounces evaporated milk
  • 3 cups clam juice or 3 cups water

Recipe

  • 1 fry bacon until nearly crisp.
  • 2 set aside; sauté onions & potatoes, in bacon fat, until lightly browned.
  • 3 add raw clams & enough juice and/or water to cover.
  • 4 cook until potatoes are tender.
  • 5 cool; add milk & about 3c water.
  • 6 heat through, but do not boil.
