Bourbon Shrimp Flambe

Total Time: 20 mins Preparation Time: 10 mins Cook Time: 10 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 4
  • 4 tablespoons butter, enough to saute shrimp
  • 1 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1/4 cup bourbon
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream or 1/4 cup half-and-half
  • 1 teaspoon tomato paste
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • salt, pepper to taste
  • 1/4 cup fresh chives, chopped
  • toasted pecans (to garnish) (optional)

Recipe

  • 1 melt butter in skillet.
  • 2 add shrimp, cook for 1 minute.
  • 3 add bourbon.
  • 4 with a long match ignite and shake pan until flames die down-be careful.
  • 5 remove shrimp to a warm platter.
  • 6 add cream and tomato paste to pan.
  • 7 bring to a boil and reduce until thickened.
  • 8 add lemon juice, salt, pepper.
  • 9 return shrimp to pan.
  • 10 add chives.
  • 11 garnish with pecans if desired.
  • 12 serve over wild rice.
