Blackened Tuna

Total Time: 28 mins Preparation Time: 20 mins Cook Time: 8 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 6
  • 2 cups unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons paprika
  • 3 teaspoons salt
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon oregano
  • 6 fresh tuna fillets, 1/2-3/4-inch thick
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon red pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon thyme

Recipe

  • 1 load grill with charcoal to make very hot fire.
  • 2 set cast iron skillet on grill.
  • 3 let cast-iron skillet get very hot before adding ingredients.
  • 4 combine all dry ingredients in a dish.
  • 5 dip fish into melted butter and coat well.
  • 6 cover fillets with seasoning and press into fillet with palm of hand.
  • 7 place into hot skillet and pour 1 teaspoon butter on top of.
  • 8 each.
  • 9 cook, (uncovered) about 2 minutes until charred.
  • 10 turn and cook until done.
  • 11 serve hot with melted butter.
  • 12 caution: cook outdoors due to smoke.
