Celery Shrimp Bisque

Total Time: 30 mins Preparation Time: 15 mins Cook Time: 15 mins

Ingredients

  • 2 cups peeled diced potatoes
  • 2 cups chopped celery
  • 2 cups water
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon pepper
  • 4 cups half-and-half
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 1 lb medium shrimp, cleaned
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon celery salt
  • 1/4 cup dry sherry

Recipe

  • 1 combine first 6 ingredients in a large dutch oven.
  • 2 bring to a boil, cover and simmer 10 minutes.
  • 3 mix flour and half-and-half in small bowl.
  • 4 add to potatoes, stirring well.
  • 5 add shrimp.
  • 6 add butter and celery salt.
  • 7 cook on medium until thick and bubbly.
  • 8 stir in sherry.
