Creamy Halibut Supreme

Total Time: 45 mins Preparation Time: 15 mins Cook Time: 30 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 6
  • 2 lbs halibut steaks
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • milk
  • 1 (8 ounce) can mushrooms, sliced, reserve liquid
  • 1/2 cup parmesan cheese, grated

Recipe

  • 1 rinse and pat very dry halibut steaks.
  • 2 place the steaks in a well greased baking dish.
  • 3 drizzle lemon juice over the steaks.
  • 4 melt the butter in a saucepan; stir in the flour.
  • 5 add the seasonings; mix well.
  • 6 add enough milk to the mushroom liquid to make 1 cup.
  • 7 whisk into the flour mixture.
  • 8 cook until thick over medium heat.
  • 9 pour over the halibut steaks.
  • 10 sprinkle with mushrooms and cheese.
  • 11 bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes.
