Cedar Planked Salmon With Citrus Bbq Sauce

Total Time: 30 mins Preparation Time: 15 mins Cook Time: 15 mins

Ingredients

  • 1 small red onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 3 green onions, chopped
  • 1 1/2 cups barbecue sauce
  • 1/2 cup orange marmalade
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh dill
  • 2 tablespoons orange juice
  • 1 tablespoon coarsely ground black pepper
  • salt
  • 6 salmon fillets (each 6 oz. )

Recipe

  • 1 preheat grill to high.
  • 2 in a bowl combine the onion, garlic, green onions, bbq sauce, marmalade, dill, orange juice, black pepper and salt.
  • 3 heavily crust the top of each salmon fillet with the mixture, pressing down gently.
  • 4 place the soaked plank on the grill and close the lid.
  • 5 let the plank heat for 3 to 4 minutes or until it starts to crackle and smoke.
  • 6 carefully open the lid and place the salmon on the plank.
  • 7 close the lid and bake for 12 to 15 minutes or until it flakes easily with a fork.
  • 8 periodically check the plank; if is burning, spray it with water and reduce heat to medium.
  • 9 carefully remove the plank from the grill and serve immediately.
