Batter Dipped Fish

Total Time: 25 mins Preparation Time: 15 mins Cook Time: 10 mins

Ingredients

  • 3 cups soybean oil
  • 2 lbs cod fish fillets
  • 1 cup self rising flour
  • 1/3 cup dry mustard
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 egg
  • 2 teaspoons sugar
  • 2 teaspoons salt

Recipe

  • 1 sift together mustard and flour.
  • 2 heat oil to 400°.
  • 3 cut the fish into 7x2-inch pieces.
  • 4 with a mixer blend the flour mixture with the water, egg, sugar and salt.
  • 5 dip fish into the batter, coating well.
  • 6 drop into the hot oil.
  • 7 fry fish until dark golden brown.
  • 8 remove and drain on paper towels.
