Cajun Fish Fillets

Total Time: 15 mins Preparation Time: 5 mins Cook Time: 10 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 2
  • 1 tablespoon paprika
  • 3/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme or 1 tablespoon chopped fresh thyme
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon fresh ground black pepper
  • 1 pinch cayenne pepper
  • 2 teaspoons olive oil
  • 2 halibut fillets
  • lemon wedge

Recipe

  • 1 in a small bowl, combine paprika, garlic powder, thyme, salt, black pepper, cayenne pepper and oil to make a paste.
  • 2 pat fish dry with paper towels.
  • 3 using the back of a spoon, rub paste mixture evenly over the entire surface of the fish.
  • 4 cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for 2 hours.
  • 5 preheat bbq to medium high and grease grill.
  • 6 bbq halibut, turning once, until cooked through, about 3 to 5 minutes per side (alternately, cook fish in a nonstick frypan over medium high heat).
  • 7 cooking time may vary depending on thickness of fish.
  • 8 remove fish to a serving plate and serve with lemon wedges.
  • 9 this rub works equally well with salmon, sea bass or tuna.
