Cajun Fish Fillets

Ingredients

- 1 tablespoon paprika
- 3/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme or 1 tablespoon chopped fresh thyme
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon fresh ground black pepper
- 1 pinch cayenne pepper
- 2 teaspoons olive oil
- 2 halibut fillets
- lemon wedge
Recipe
- 1 in a small bowl, combine paprika, garlic powder, thyme, salt, black pepper, cayenne pepper and oil to make a paste.
- 2 pat fish dry with paper towels.
- 3 using the back of a spoon, rub paste mixture evenly over the entire surface of the fish.
- 4 cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for 2 hours.
- 5 preheat bbq to medium high and grease grill.
- 6 bbq halibut, turning once, until cooked through, about 3 to 5 minutes per side (alternately, cook fish in a nonstick frypan over medium high heat).
- 7 cooking time may vary depending on thickness of fish.
- 8 remove fish to a serving plate and serve with lemon wedges.
- 9 this rub works equally well with salmon, sea bass or tuna.
